Using the PHP Function to Find When a File Was Modified

If your website contains time-sensitive information—or even if it doesnt—you may want to display the last time a file was modified on the website. This gives users an accurate idea of how up to date the information on a page is. You can automatically draw this information from the file itself using the filemtime() PHP function. The filemtime() PHP function retrieves the Unix timestamp from the file. The date function converts the Unix timestamp time. This timestamp indicates when the file was last changed. Example Code to Display File Modification Date   When you use this code,  replace myfile.txt with the actual name of the file you are dating. ?php // outputs myfile.txt was last modified: December 29 2002 22:16:23. $filename myfile.txt; if (file_exists($filename)) {  Ã‚  echo $filename was last modified: . date (F d Y H:i:s., filemtime($filename)); } ? Other Uses for Filemtime() Function In addition to time-stamping web articles, the filemtime() function can be used to select all articles older than a specified time for the purpose of deleting all old articles. It can also be used to sort articles by age for other purposes. The function can come in handy when dealing with browser caching. You can force the download of a revised version of a stylesheet or page using the filemtime()  function. Filemtime can be used to capture the modification time of an image or other file on a remote site. Information on Filemtime() Function The results  of the filemtime() function are cached. The  clearstatcache() function clears the cache. If the filemtime () function fails, the code returns false.

Live, Love, Learn free essay sample

There have been several people who have influenced me greatly throughout my life, but there is one that stands out, and that is my grandmother, whom I call Omi. I am going to tell of a special trip that Omi and I took together, and how we became closer and influenced by both the culture and each other. Omi has influenced me indirectly, and directly; she has always been here for me and I trust her with so much. Last summer, we went on a European adventure. The deal was that she would pay for essentials and I would plan the trip. Figuring out what something means in a foreign language is tough, but figuring out a foreign metro system? I tackled everything though, and by planning out this magnificent trip, I discovered more about the countries than someone who might have taken tours instead. I was introduced to new cultures outside of the many that exist here in Hawaii, and it really interested me. Felix Restituyo Ethics in CJ Professor Monte s Mar Essays

Felix Restituyo Ethics in CJ Professor Monte s March 7, 2017 After reading the article I feel that the inspectors were just doing their job, but I also felt like the extent of what they did to get the job done was unnecessary. The handcuffing of a five year old and 65 year old in my opinion was superabundant . If it was the other way around and these people were US citizens, th e amount of money involved in these lawsuit cases would be immense. The simple fact is, the handcuffing of a 5 year old is not American and unconstitutional. That is not what originated or represents our country, and the relevance of the line " I was just doing my job " is oblivious . In history, the statement " I was just doing my job " has been an excuse for many things. For example, we have the Stanley Milgram Experiment which gave the world insight that certain individuals regardless of their good morals and values will do things when comman ded and ordered. S ince that term was used, the outcome were officers either getting off or being arrested for their actions. I believe that Trump ' s immigration policy is absurd due to the fact that Trump is secluding individuals from the American Dream. Although the general idea of not allowing anyone in the country is wrong, the individuals he ' s not back into the country have nothing or very little to do with Terrorism but is allowing people from the countries who we have evidence and hard facts correlating to terrorism threats on American soil. Trumps defense is that he is doing this to " keep us safe " but in reality what he is doing is dividing a country who is based of unity. Trump believes that because he is The President of The United States, he has the authority and power to do as he pleases with no consequences. As an A merican , Trump believes that immigrants have deprived citizens from jobs and opportunities , as w ell as cause havoc in The US, when in reality these immigrants sole purpose of migrating is to have a better opportunity to help their families back home. I don't think it is right for anyone to get in the way of someone trying to help their family, and i f I were one of the US Customs Inspectors, I wouldn't have done what was asked . Speaking from a person who's parents migrated to this country, I believe that it would have been unjust and inhumane. The psychological experiment definitely has bearings and an impact on how we view the actions of the inspectors. But although the Stanley Milgram Experiment perceives a case where individuals that aren't necessarily bad do bad things when commanded or feel empowered, people should have the basic human conscience of knowing right from wrong. The argument of them " just doing their job " is understandable, especially if thats what puts a roof over your families head, food on the table and clothes on your child ren back, but to what extent. You as a person should know how far to take it and not, handcuffing a 5 year old cannot be justified in any way, it is wrong regardless of what way you look at it. Although sometimes you might have to do something that you believe is morally wrong because of your job, the option of the limit you take that to should never refrained. I believe p hysical force should only be used when the officer and /or surrounding people are in danger. For exa m ple, if the offender is resisting arrest and trying to fight the officer, and there is no other way to get this individual to comply, then physical fo rce can be used. Although in certain situations psychical force can be used, it should not be mistaken for abused because cases involving an individual who is not resisting or a physical threat should not become fatal. For example, Eric Garner was not resisting arrest or a threat to th ose around him, but yet was force onto the ground by multiple officers

Modern Psychology essays

Modern Psychology essays "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry..." Everyday, this chant is heard by millions of people watching the now infamous "talk show", Jerry Springer. Even though just a few years ago, most people regarded these shows as ridiculous, now this chant is recognized and adored by many people in society. The most parsimonious explanation for this is that the shows now have more interesting and captivating topics. The premise of most episodes of these shows has changed greatly over the past few years; The topics have moved away from large scale social issues, like homosexuality and cancer, to relationship and familial issues, like adultery and mothers who are too flirtatious with their daughter's boyfriends. Many people would argue that the issues being presented now are not as interesting or captivating as the older issues. However, after watching an old episode and a new episode, most people agree that the emotions displayed by the guests in the newer shows are more visible, with actions such as onstag e yelling and fighting. The general emotional content of the episodes has changed from sadness to anger. From a psychological standpoint, there are many influences that cause extreme anger to be displayed by the guests on "talk shows". Imagine being a guest on the Jerry Springer show, as you walk onto the stage you see the large audience chanting those infamous words. You sit down next to your fiance not knowing what to expect, you are nervous and anxious. Finally, Jerry says those terrible words, "So, don't you have something to tell your fianc?" She turns to you, looks into your eyes and says, "Remember about a month ago when I disappeared at that party at your house? Well, that night your brother and me left the party early. I'm sorry, I have been sleeping with your brother for the past month." Suddenly, the anxiousness that you experienced is gone and replaced by anger, intense anger. You turn to Jerry as he asks you, "Wow, ...

Understanding of Organizational behavior Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Understanding of Organizational behavior - Essay Example al psychology studies behavior within the organization covered by psychology and its subfields, organizational behavior can include those that are within the areas of sociology and economics, among others. The first top issue in organizational behavior today is the manner by which woman still encounter the glass ceiling in their career path. This is true in the case of Wal-mart employees. When women are prevented to advance on account of their gender and that it is a conventional practice of an organization, it is a discriminatory behavior. It can be addressed using frameworks available that have been developed as a result of extensive studies done on similar organizational behavior theme in the past. The fact that it still persists speaks volumes about the attitude and policies of organizations and policymakers in business today. Secondly, there is the case of equitability of wages. Executive officers tend to get higher percentage of pay raises in comparison with the rank and file employees. This is what is happening at Hostess, for example. The dynamics by which organizations dispensed with this policy deserves attention especially that many believe it as valid, cost-effective and e fficient. An in-depth analysis of this issue in the context of organizational behavior could lead to viable models that would achieve organizational efficiency and profitability while implementing income equitability. Finally, I would like to cite the case of the corporate greed. Decision makers are hard-pressed to deliver the maximum profit to its shareholders. Hence, all other considerations such as social responsibility and ethics are never prioritized, if at all. The dynamics of the interaction between profit and policies, shareholders and managers, and, organization and society are covered by organizational behavior and could similarly be addressed within its framework in instances severe corporate greed. In my fathers appliance repair business one of the major roles I play is
